Kakching, August 21 2025: A team of Health Department officials accompanied by police started inspection of pharmacies opened in the district to check whether are following all regulations.

A combined team of District Health Society (DHS), Kakching led by chief medical officer Dr Thaodem Rajen and district police led by Kakching police station OC Pheiroijam Priyobarta carried out inspection of pharmacies at Sora Bazar on Thursday.

During the drive, the team inspected six pharmacies and checked their licences, registration validity and whether they are selling expired or illegal medicines.

Out of the six, two pharmacies were order to shut operation for flouting prescribed regulations.

Speaking to media persons, CMO Dr Rajen informed that the drive will continue in other parts of the district.

He also urged pharmacy owners to follow all criteria and permits before opening a pharmacy.
