"Day with Coy commander", lecture prog held

With the aim to ignite the young minds with the spirit of nationalism, leadership, and understanding of the armed forces' role in nation-building, Assam Rifles on Wednesday organised "A Day with Company Commander" at Shakpao village in Kamjong district and Sita in Tengnoupal district, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
It informed that the Shakpao event, attended by 40 students and five teachers of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Ramva, had a spirited interactive session with the company commander, facilitating the students to know more about a soldier's life, leadership and service to the nation.
A guided tour of the camp offered a rare glimpse into the operational and daily responsibilities of the troops.
The event concluded with a prize distribution, leaving the children with cherished memories and a newfound admiration for the uniform, said the PRO.
Simultaneously, at Sita, 30 students and two teachers attended a motivational talk, and joined elocution competition, weapon display and lively recreational activities.
The event served as a platform to encourage youth to consider careers in the Armed Forces and imbibe values of discipline, teamwork and service, the PRO added.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on "How to Join the Indian Armed Forces" at T Minou village, Moreh in Tengnoupal district on Tuesday.
Aimed at empowering local youth, the session saw participation from 17 enthusiastic attendees.
Assam Rifles officials shared detailed insights on various entry schemes like NDA, CDS, Agniveer and technical routes, along with eligibility, selection, training, and life in the armed forces as a part of the event.
Assam Rifles also organised a medical camp at Phaisang-jang village under Khengjoi sub division in Chandel district on Wednesday wherein 68 villagers including 24 women and 26 children availed medical consultation and treatment services.
The medical team addressed a variety of health concerns including respiratory infections, skin conditions, fever and general health issues.
Complementary medicines were distributed to all patients post consultation, the PRO informed.
