143 Bn CRPF hands over water tanks

Imphal, February 28 2025:
The 143 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) handed over the final water conservation tanks under its 2024-25 Civic Action Programme on Friday.
According to a 143 Bn release, a ceremony at Awangkhul village marked the completion of the project, with five 6'x6'x6' water conservation tanks delivered to villages including Re'ng-pang, Khongsang, Nungba, Tamenglong, and Awangkhul.
As chief guest of the event, commandant Ravinder Sharma formally handed over the tanks to representatives of the said villages.
The event was attended by local leaders, including village chairman Kampou and secretary Shaguangam, alongside officials such as deputy commandant Amaree Prasad, Major Kiran Bohare of 6 Assam Rifles, AC Vinod Kumar (B/143 Bn), and representatives from Noney district police.
In his address, commandant Ravinder emphasised the CRPF's commitment to supporting communities through humanitarian efforts.
"These tanks will provide clean drinking water and ease daily challenges, particularly for women who travel long distances to collect water," he stated.
Locals of Tamenglong expressed gratitude, highlighting the project's role in improving quality of life and fostering trust between security forces and civilians, the CRPF battalion said in a release.
