Army commemorates World Environment Day

In a resounding commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement, Indian army organised a series of events across Manipur, Assam, Tripura, and Nagaland on the occasion of World Environment Day on Wednesday.
In a release, PRO Defence informed that in collaboration with the Bishnupur Forest Division, a tree plantation drive was held at Kumbi Public School in Bishnupur district.
The event involved planting of 250 saplings and an interactive educational session focused on preserving ecosystems and promoting eco-friendly lifestyles.
A painting competition for local children, cleanliness drive with locals and youth and movie screening for local children were organised in Moreh.
The activities, under the theme "Olives Love Green," aimed to inspire environmental responsibility among the participants.
Similar activities were also held in Assam, Agartala, Tripura and Nagaland underscoring the Indian Army's dedication to environmental sustainability and community welfare, it added.
