The Signal Regiment of Red Shield Division dedicated a newly established library to the people of Khaochangbung village, Kangpokpi district under its Operation Sadbhavana.
The dedication ceremony witnessed a heart-warming moment as two of the youngest school-going children from the village were given the honour of cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
The event was attended by village elders, military officials, and locals.
Following the ribbon-cutting, pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou led a dedication prayer, invoking blessings for the newly established facility.
The event was also marked by the village chief presenting a 'Saipikhup', a traditional shawl, to the attending officials as a token of gratitude and appreciation.
Recognising the pressing needs of the community, the village chief also submitted a memorandum requesting the construction of a community hall and fencing for the village playground.
In his address, a senior official from the Red Shield Division encouraged the students and youth to embrace their responsibilities as the future of the nation.
He emphasised the transformative power of education and urged them to make the best use of the library's resources.
Apart from a well-stocked collection of books, the library has been equipped with computer sets, tables, chairs, and bookshelves, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
This strategic move is expected to significantly improve digital literacy among the village's children and provide them with tools to expand their knowledge.
