International Mother Language Day celebrated

Tamenglong, February 21 2025:
Creative competitions marked International Mother Language Day celebration in Tamenglong and Noney districts on Friday.
The events organised by Assam Rifles appreciated the linguistic diversity in the culturally rich region of Manipur and highlight ed the importance of native languages.
As part of the celebration, essay writing and story-telling competitions were held for school children at Lower Katang, Old Nungnang, and Khongsang villages of Tamenglong and Noney districts.

A total of 180 students, teachers and school staff participated in the activities.
The event fostered a sense of unity and pride among the students as they celebrated their unique linguistic heritage.
Local educators and literary figures were judges for the competitions in each village while the winners were awarded in recognition of their talent and dedication.
