Grand celebrations mark 150 years ot Vande Mataram

Oriental College (Autonomous), Takyel, Imphal, joined the Nation in celebrating the 150th anniversary of India's National song 'Vande Mataram' through a grand event held at the college's conference hall on Friday.
The event organised by IQAC of the college was graced by Sapam Kunjakeswor Singh, MLA, Patsoi AC; Dr S Ranjit Singh, Principal, Oriental College; and M Lokendro Singh, Head, Department of Chemistry, as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Sapam Kunjakeswor invoked the spirit of Vande Mataram, urging everyone to foster a stronger sense of nationalism, unity, and integrity.
Dr S Ranjit highlighted the enduring message of patriotism and love for the motherland embodied in Bankim Chandra Chatterjee's immortal verse.
M Lokendro spoke at length about the historical background of Vande Mataram and its significance in India's national movement against British rule.
The highlight of the programme was the mass singing of Vande Mataram by all participants, which was synchronized with the nationwide televised broadcast led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
RIMS
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, commemorated the 150 years of National song 'Vande Mataram' with a solemn and patriotic event held in front of its Administrative Block today.
The programme commenced with the collective singing of "Vande Mataram", symbolizing unity, pride, and reverence for the nation.
The event was organised under the guidance of Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire the institute's dedication to excellence and service to the nation.
As part of the observance, a live telecast of the address by PM Narednra Modi was viewed by all concerned from their respective offices.
The programme witnessed the presence of the Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; Deputy Director (Administration); Dean (Academics); Principals of the Dental College and College of Nursing; Heads of Departments; faculty members; nursing officials; officers; and staff of RIMS, Imphal.
NIT Manipur
The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Manipur organised a special programme titled 'Vande Mataram' along with an event under the Young Climate Champions Awards Initiative on Friday at its seminar hall.
As part of the national 'Vande Mataram' programme, more than 100 students and 30 teaching & non-teaching staff members of NIT Manipur joined in singing 'Vande Mataram' along with the PM and participants across the country.
The event commenced with the soulful rendition of the national song, fostering a spirit of nationalism, unity, and collective pride among students, faculty, and staff members.
Eminent speakers emphasized the importance of national pride, environmental awareness, and the crucial role of youth in addressing the challenges of climate change.
Distinguished guests who graced the event and delivered talks included Prof Kh Manglem Singh, Director (i/c), NIT Manipur; Prof Kh Tomba Singh, Registrar, NIT Manipur; Dr Jubita Hajarimayum, Executive Director, Gender and Development Initiative, Government of Manipur; and Prof H Sudhir, Professor, Manipur University.
NIT Manipur also hosted sessions under the Young Climate Champions Awards Initiative.
The sessions featured engaging discussions on environmental awareness, climate action, and youth participation in sustainable initiatives.
The event concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to work together towards building a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable nation.
Biramangol College
To commemorate 150 years of the National song 'Vande Mataram', the IQAC, NSS and YRC Units of Biramangol College organised a solemn event at the college's gymnasium hall in Sawombung today.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including Kh Ibomcha, MLA, Lamlai AC; Dr A Jibanlata, Principal (i/c), Biramangol College; Dr Ch Ghanajit, Co-ordinator, IQAC; N Rajmohon, Academic in-charge; and Dr K Brajkumar, DDO .
Manipur College
Manipur College on Friday observed Vande Mataram@150 to commemorate the 150th years of the National song 'Vande Mataram', written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
The programme featured live streaming of the inauguration programme by the Prime Minister and the singing of the 'Vande Matram' in synchronization with the national programme.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of Singjamei AC MLA Yumnam Khemchand Singh, students, faculty members and NCC cadets.
