Senapati, April 06 2025:
Frontal organizations of Senapati, including the Naga Peoples' Organization (NPO), Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA), and Senapati District Women's Association (SDWA) have condemned the April 3 vandalism and arson at Kazanga, a Maram Naga tribe village, by armed Kuki volunteers from Valpabung Village while calling the Kukis refugees.
Furthermore, these organizations unequivocally condemned the brutal attack carried out by Kuki militants disguised as civilians on April 5, 2025, targeting the residents of Konsakhul Naga Village.
The organizations stated that the Naga people have stood for peace and neutrality in the ongoing ethnic conflict in the State, refraining from taking sides.
The recent acts of aggression represented a well-coordinated and deliberate attempt to drag the Nagas into the crisis, involving trespassing and the unlawful confiscation of indigenous Naga ancestral land by refugees, they said.
Appealing to the people of Senapati to stand united and extend full support to the brethren whose rights and very existence are being threatened, the Naga bodies added that they too will not remain silent in the face of such violations.
Those responsible for the vandalism and arson must issue an unconditional apology to the victims, they demanded and cautioned that consequences would follow if the demand is not heeded.
Additionally, the district frontal organizations also urged the authorities to take immediate and decisive actions to deliver justice to the victims.
Should the authorities fail to act swiftly, the people of Senapati shall be compelled to take matters into their own hands to secure justice and protect the safety and security of its people and the land, the organizations warned.
