Imphal, July 19 2015 :
Flatly rejecting Deputy Chief Minister's announcement that a departmental enquiry has been initiated into the death of Ananda Singh Higher Secondary school student Sapam Robinhood, the Joint Students' Coordination Committee (JSCC) has demanded a Judicial enquiry so that all the culprits can be awarded exemplary punishment.
That the movement is a spontaneous one is evidenced from the massive support it received all across the State, said a press release issued by JSCC convenor Jayentakumar Khuman.
Brute military force can never suppress the movement.
All the seven students including AMSU advisor Thokchom Suresh and vice-president Kangabam Dhanajit who have been arrested in the course of the mass movement should be released at the earliest without any condition.
Moreover, all the educational institutions which remain closed today should be re-opened without any further delay.
The JSCC would never accept the Government's design to militarize all educational institutions, it conveyed.
