Vice-chairman of the JAC constituted against Robinhood's death, Raghubi Salam expressed serious concern over accusing the students of mob gathering and carrying weapons which may inflict grievous injury in the police FIR.
In the said FIR, Raghubi said, it was wrongly recorded that around 400 students were staging protest although the number of students gathered on that day was around 150 only.
It was mentioned in the FIR that police resorted to firing of rubber bullets, teargas shells and baton charging to control the agitating students armed with an order of the Executive Magistrate, he said.
After Robinhood was seriously injured in the police action, no police personnel came forward to rush him to a nearby hospital, Raghubi said.
However, he was later brought to the hospital by students on a scooter, he said.
He further said that the JAC has requested the DGP to not only direct the police station concerned to lodge a fresh FIR based on facts but also requested him to take action against the personnel responsible for Robinhood's death.
United Clubs convenor K Tarun said that Robinhood had sacrificed his life for the people of Manipur.
