Imphal, May 02 2015 :
All India Mahila Congress president Shobha Oza has lambasted the BJP Government led by Narendra Modi saying that none of the promises made by BJP in the run up to the last parliamentary action has been translated into action even though the Government is almost one year old.
Speaking at the Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Meet 2015 held at Congress Bhavan here today, Shobha said that all the expectations of people have been belied by the Modi Government and people have started realizing the true colour of Narendra Modi.
Even though many BJP leaders have been shouting slogans like Beti Bachao, Beti Parao as if they are really concerned about girl children, Ramdev has been promoting drugs which purportedly help in conceiving males in States where the sex ratio is relatively low.
Haryana BJP Government's projection of Ramdev as their Haryana ambassador exposes BJP's orientation towards gender discrimination or subjugation of women.

She then branded the BJP Government as anti-women, anti-poor and anti-North East.
It is too unrealistic to expect women specific welfare programmes from the BJP Government but Mahila Congress would fight for the rights of women in the country, Shobha Oza said.
MPCC president and Deputy Chief Minister Gai-khangam asserted that women should know their talents and act accordingly in order to get respectable status in the society.
A society can advance much faster if women are empowered to the desired level instead of subjugating them, Gaikhangam asserted.
Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress president RK Ranisana sought help from Congress Ministers and MLAs towards increasing the number of district Mahila Congress committees and Kendra Mahila committees.
Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, MLA D Korungthang and MLA O Landhoni were also present at the function.
Later speaking to media persons at Congress Bhavan, Shobha Oza while noting that the BJP Government has been working to implement the Land Acquisition Ordinance 2015, blamed the BJP Government's policy failures for the rising cases of committing suicide by farmers.
She also accused the BJP Government of trying deduct funds allocated for women welfare programmes.
BJP should have learnt a lesson from the crushing defeat it suffered at the hands of AAP in the last Delhi Assembly election.
Shobha Oza said that her tour of the North East region is aimed at strengthening Mahila Congress in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Manipur.
She would go to Kangpokpi to attend Sadar Hills District Mahila Meet tomorrow.
