Vandalism in Gwaltabi village condemned

Six civil organizations have strongly condemned the vandalism in the Gwaltabi village.
Over 30 houses and properties were damaged in the mob attack.
Representatives of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, AMOVA, AMUCO, COHR, Meira Paibi Welfare Association Kangleipak, AMESCO were present in the press conference held on Saturday in the AMUCO office at Kwakeithel.
The organizations condemned the destruction of over 30 houses and properties.
It was a "beastly act", the NGOs said.
They appealed to one and all not to create communal tension as a result of the incident.
They said that if the police had rushed there in time the incident would have been averted.
They demanded adequate compensation.
Apart from an inquiry these NGOs also demanded booking the culprits.
The Gwaltabi villagers who had imposed an indefinite blockade should not do anything which will cause hardships to the people.
