Imphal, August 21 2025: Governor-in-CoUncil has approved the long-pending proposal of the police department to enhance monthly ration money allowance for security personnel from Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 per head with effect from September 1, 2025 .

The decision covers personnel of Manipur Rifles, India Reserve Battalion, Civil Police, Police Telecommunication Organisation, Central Motor Transport Workshop and Village Defence Force.

Meanwhile, welcoming the move as a major welfare measure, Manipur DGP in a statement said the hike would boost morale and motivation of personnel who have been performing their duties with dedication during the past two years of unrest.

The DGP expressed gratitude to the state government for recognising the sacrifices and contributions of its forces in restoring law and order across the state.
