Army holds interaction programme

Imphal, July 14 2024: As part of Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti celebrations (Silver Jubilee), the Indian Army recently organised 'A Day with Company Commander, in Bishnupur district.

According to a statement issued by PRO Defence, in continuation of its efforts to engage the local youth and instil a feeling of patriotism, students of Lamjing Meira Maheikol Primary School of Saiton in Bishnupur district interacted with soldiers of the Army, under the theme of 'Be the change you want to see, join Indian Army & serve the nation' .

The initiative aimed to instil teamwork and a positive attitude towards the nation among the students, was attended by over 100 students residing in Internally Displaced People (IDP) relief camps and six teachers from the school.

Various activities were conducted to highlight the role of Army and the Kargil Vijay Diwas.

A painting competition under the themes of 'The Spirit of In-dependence' was also organised, which witnessed participation of 100 students.

The winners were also awarded with various prizes.

Other activities including flag hoisting, interaction with troops and officers, and various sports activities for the students were also conducted, the statement added.
