CCpur, August 08 2025:
The district police, alongside the CAPF, held a community policing on Friday at Zoumunnuam village chief T Pauchinkhup's residence.
Led by Addl SP (LO, CCP) Lawrence Kapkhenmang Munluo and assistant sub-inspector Christopher Laldinthara, the police team outlined the initiative's aims: to build trust and cooperation with local residents, enhance public safety through participatory policing, address grievances, and promote conflict resolution.
Additionally, they highlighted efforts to raise awareness about criminal laws, legal rights, cyber safety, and online crimes, while pledging support during emergencies.
The event also aims to reshape perceptions of the police as approachable allies rather than mere enforcers.
Naresh Kumar, assistant commandant of the 157th Battalion, CRPF, reinforced CAPF's commitment as peacekeepers and announced an upcoming football tournament for youth engagement.
As part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, CRPF personnel distributed Indian flags to attendees.
Village Authority secretary Marcus Chinsuanlian thanked the security forces for their service and highlighted their critical role in safeguarding the flood-prone village, situated near the Khuga riverbank.
He appealed for enhanced logistical support during monsoon-related crisis.
The event drew around 150 villagers.
