MPMC flays RAF action against women protestors

Imphal, February 21 2024: Strongly condemning use of excessive force by RAF personnel against women protestors at Cheirap court complex bn Tuesday, Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress (MPMC) said such actions were in total disrespect of entire people of the state for which the government must take action against personnel involved.

MPMC president M Sarma Devi expressed that commitment of central forces in containing violence and saving lives of the people in the state remains a big question.

When women were staging democratic protest at Cheirap court demanding release of six individuals arrested in connection with arms looting case, RAF personnel used excessive force and fired tear gas shells inside the court complex, she said and termed action of the RAF as total disrespect of women of Manipur and judiciary.

She also demanded action against the RAF personnel involved in excessive action inside Cheirap court complex during a media briefing on Wednesday.
