AR donates solar street lights

Imphal, February 21 2024:
Acknowledging the pressing need for basic amenities and infrastructure development in the remote Chakama village in Kamjong district, Assam Rifles distributed solar street lights as part of its Civic Action Programme on Wednesday.
Approximately 80 residents of Chakama village, along with various civil dignitaries including Reverend J Robin from Somrei Church, Ningthar Shanglai, secretary of Chakama village, and Ester Shimray, a women empowerment activist, attended the distribution event.
During the ceremony, Assam Rifles handed over 10 solar street lights to the village authorities.
In addition to distribution of solar lights, the village council organised prayers and cultural programmes to mark the event, informed a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
