Theatre workshop on folk music concludes

Imphal, July 14 2024: A month-long theatre workshop cum production organised by Research Centre for Traditional Folk Music under the sponsorship of Ministry of Culture concluded at Shree Shree Brindaban Sheva Dham ISKCON, Utlou, Bishnupur district on Sunday.

Udokhon, a folk-play production of the workshop was also released during the closing ceremony.

East Zone Cultural Centre, Kolkaka Board of Governor member Buddha Chingtham, Lainingthou Charitable Hospital proprietor Dr Th Nabakishore, Manipur University of Culture assistant professor T Shilla, and MANSA advisor L Sumita attended the closing ceremony as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Buddha Chingtham expressed hope that such workshop could help in reviving the theatre movement in the state.

He appealed to all to support theatre stating that it has been playing crucial role in preserving tradition and culture of the state.
