Imphal, October 09 2024:
A heart attack prevention cell has been made functional at Advanced Hospital & Research Institute, Palace Compound, on Wednesday to provide support to patients with heart-related diseases.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the cell attended by doctors, nurses, and support staff of the hospital, Dr Ksh Kala cautioned that incidence of heart attacks has been on the rise in the state, with many young people also affected.
He urged all concerned to seek treatment on heart-related issues at the soonest possible.
Key steps for preventing heart attacks include maintaining weight commensurate with height, engaging in regular physical exercises, avoiding smoking and tobacco use, and following diet regime rich in fruits and vegetables while minimising oily dishes.
