AR aids in containing Ccpur blaze

Imphal, April 06 2025: Assam Rifles extended assistance in controlling a massive fire that broke out in a multi-storey commercial building at Thangjam Road, New Bazar, Churachandpur district on Friday.

Upon receiving an urgent request from the district administration, the Assam Rifles swiftly mobilised a Quick Reaction Team, equipped with water bowsers and fire-fighting apparatus, to assist in containing the blaze.

The troops played a key role in crowd control and perimeter security, ensuring the fire department could operate without obstruction in the densely populated area, according to PRO IGAR (S).

In a release, the PRI informed that the prompt and coordinated efforts of the fire department and AR resulted in the fire being brought under control by evening.
