Civilians surrender arms to security forces

Imphal, February 28 2025:
In a significant step toward restoring stability in violence-hit Manipur, civilians from conflict-affected villages voluntarily handed over a cache of illegal weapons to security forces on Thursday.
In response to the Governor's appeal for voluntary surrender of weapons, security forces, led by the commandant of the 133 Battalion CRPF, along with the company commander, engaged with the villagers to facilitate the process.

As a result, civilians voluntarily handed over various automatic, semi-automatic, and country-made weapons in the presence of senior officials, including deputy commandant Mritunjay Kumar, assistant commandant Navin Kumar, Abhinav Kumar, who is SDPO of Gamnom Saparmeina in Kangpokpi district, and Saikul SHO inspector Raju Khan.
