'Lairikyengbam Leikai High School fills with inadequacies'

Imphal, May 11 2024: Even though the state government launched 'School Fagathanshi Mission', Lairikyengbam Leikai High School management committee has stated that the school is filled with inadequacies.

After school management committee and teachers met together on Saturday, school headmistress Pangambam Lata Chanu informed that the school has a total of 144 students.

As there is not any other schools nearby, the school is important for the people of the area.

Moreover, the infrastructure of the school, which was founded in 1974, is not in tune with the changing time.

Stating that the school is filled with inadequacies, she continued that there is dearth of teachers and the infrastructure is in deplorable conditions.

There are no proper fencing and toilet in the schools, she contended.

Though the state government launched School Fagathanshi Mission and take up several initiatives for developing government schools, it is unfortunate that the school is still lacking attention from the government under the mission, she lamented, while appealing to the government and department concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
