Discourse on business incubation strategies, challenges and opportunities held

A one day discourse on navigating business incubation strategies, challenges and opportunities was conducted at the auditorium hall of Khongnangthaba University located at Khurai Konsam Leikai today.
The discourse was organised by Livelihood Business Incubation Centre, Khongnangthaba University.
Today's discourse was attended by K Debadutta Sharma, Director, Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation Manipur; Professor H Birkumar Singh, Chief Scientist CSIR-NEIST Branch Lamphelpat, Imphal and Professor Ng Iboyaima Singh, Dean, College of Food Technology, CAU, Imphal as the guests of honour.
Meanwhile, Professor N Joykumar, Vice Chancellor, Khongnangthaba University was present as the functional president.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr A Guneshwar Sharma, Director, Dean and CEO of Khongnangthaba University said that the discourse was based on the "A Scheme for Promotion of Innovation, Rural Industries and Entrepreneurship" (ASPIRE) of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (M/o MSME).
In order to develop the rural economy, there is a need to uplift the agro-based industries.
To achieve this, the emphasis should be on promotion and product manufacture of the locally available resources- agricultural, horticultural or medicinal plants, he said.
He said that the discourse was organised at the university to connect Government departments with entrepreneurs and farmers and work on the gaps- financial or otherwise.
The discourse will deliberate ways to provide financial guidance or address issues related to manufacture or promotion of resources.
The platform will also provide technology assistance to the farmers and entrepreneurs, he maintained.
At the event, the Khongnangthaba University Director also informed that a 500 sq feet plot has been identified at Pangei to build a separate Livelihood Business Incubation Centre of the University.
