Senapati, April 04 2025: In a disturbing event likely to create animosity amongst different communities, Tumuyon Khullen village has alleged that Kuki volunteers numbering around 30 to 40 set on fire houses at Kazanga village, which is a revenue village of the Maram tribe, on Friday.

According to the villagers, the incident occurred around 2 pm when suspected Kuki volunteers from Valpabung village armed with knives and firearms destroyed and burned the houses to cinder.

Sources from the villagers confirmed irreparable damage caused to more than 10 houses and properties worth over Rs 20 lakh.

Valpabung Kuki village is under Saikul sub-division in Sadar Hills East.

In this regard, the chief of Tumuyon Khullen village has filed an FIR at Kangpokpi police station (receipt no.3447/dated 4/4/2025) .
