Minister Khashim extends Christmas gifts

In an act that has brought some holiday cheers to the needy, veterinary and animal husbandry minister Khashim Vashum has extended Christmas gifts to more than 100 poor farmers and their families from different villages under Chingai assembly constituency in Ukhrul district.
On behalf of the minister, his better half Planning Vashum distributed the festive gifts which included 1000 chicks and 30 piglets along with requisite medicines to the marginalised beneficiaries here in Ukhrul town on Wednesday.
A total of 98 poor families received chicks and medicines while another 26 received piglets and medicines during the distribution function held at the minister's Hamleikhong residence in the town.
The minister took up the initiative in the festive spirit of giving and sharing to help improve the economic condition of the impoverished farmers and their families who are struggling to make ends meet.
