Imphal, January 29 2025:
Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangha, Manipur State Branch has strongly condemned alleged attempt by some unknown persons to set on fire an under-construction building belonging to one Kharga Tamang, a social worker, on January 27 around 1 am at Koirengei Nepali Basti.
In a release, Parisangha's general secretary Dewan Thapa informed that some miscreants forcefully intruded into the under-construction building and started to splash diesel in an apparent bid to torch the house.
However, timely intervention by some locals forced the miscreants to flee the scene, subsequently preventing the structure from being damaged.
The motive of the miscreants remains unknown to the owner (Kharga Tamang) and the people of Nepali Basti Koirengei, said the general secretary.
While denouncing such act, the general secretary urged the government to initiate necessary action so as to prevent recurrence of unwanted incidents in the near future and for peaceful co-existence.
