Imphal, February 21 2025: Imphal East deputy commissioner (DC) Khumanthem Diana on Friday distributed LPG cylinders to 253 internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in various relief camps under Sawombung, Keirao Bitra and Porompat sub-divisions during a function held at the DC office complex in Porompat, Imphal East.

DC Diana stated that the LPG cylinders were provided as replacements for existing subscribers among the IDPs whose subscriptions had become inactive following the crisis.

The distribution was carried out in collaboration with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to ensure the affected families have access to essential cooking resources.

Committee on Protection Meitei Victims, Moreh, education secretary Ningthoujam Samananda expressed gratitude to SDO Sapam Jyotin and Imphal East DSO, H Bupendro Singh, for their dedicated efforts in facilitating the provision of the replacement cylinders.
