Govt to train 500 youths for cabin crew jobs

Imphal, February 13 2025:
Consequent to approval by the state cabinet for residential skill training of 500 candidates for cabin crew placements in Air India and Indigo, the staff officer to the chief secretary has advised DCs of all the districts to identify and enrol eligible youth in their respective districts by February 18.According to the letter, the programme aims to equip the selected candidates with the necessary skills and certifications required to meet the recruitment standards of these airlines, ensuring successful job placements.
The programme is an initiative of Justice Gita Mittal.
The training will be conducted in Delhi, with industry partnerships established with Air India and Indigo to facilitate placements.
The first batch training is scheduled to begin this month.
To be eligible for the training, candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age and must hold a graduate degree from a recognised university.
They are also required to be in good physical health.
Additionally, fluency in English and Hindi, along with strong communication and customer service skills, is required.
Consequently, the Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West has issued a notification calling for applications, including from internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in relief camps.
IDPs can submit their application forms through the nodal officer of their respective relief camps or directly at the DC office.
The first batch of enrolments must be submitted by February 16, the notification stated.
