Body demands inclusion of Moreh IDPs in electoral roll

Imphal, April 04 2025: Committee on Protection of Meetei Victims, Moreh, has urged authorities concerned to ensure inclusion of all eligible residents of Moreh in the electoral roll.

Committee chairman L Inaocha stated that several individuals who attained the age of 18 after May 3, 2023, and are residing in relief camps set up for the internally displaced persons (IDPs), have not been included in the updated electoral rolls.

He further pointed out that many newly married women and families who have been living in Moreh for over two to three decades have also been left out.

Despite Block Level Officers (BLOs) collecting the necessary details before the last update, a significant number of names are missing from the electoral rolls in their respective areas.

In some cases, individuals' names are present sans details of their parents.

Appealing to the authorities, Inaocha called for immediate action to rectify these omissions and ensure that all eligible residents are included in the electoral roll.
