Noney, March 08 2025: Assam Rifles conducted a 'Self Defence Workshop' for the students of Berean Baptist Academy, Noney, on Saturday.

The event organised to commemorate International Women's Day, aimed at empowering girl students with essential self-defence skills and promoting confidence and safety amongst them.

The programme was conducted by both male and female troops of Assam Rifles, who are experienced unarmed combat instructors.

A total of 243 students who attended the programme were taught various self-defence techniques and basic martial arts.

The training focused on awareness, assertiveness and physical defence techniques in ensuring personal safety, proving the steadfast commitment of Assam Rifles in supporting the civilian population, by going beyond their conventional duties, and aiming for holistic development of the local community.

The teaching staff of the school thanked Assam Rifles for organising such an event, which culminated with tea and light refreshments.
