CCpur scribes organise awareness prog

CCpur, April 06 2025:
Churachandpur Working Reporters' Union (CWRU) organised a one-day legal awareness programme on drug abuse and crimes against women at Youth Relief Centre, here, on Sunday.
The event featured advocate P Khamkhanthuam (also known as Thuampi), Chingaihdon (also known as Ching-boi), and Vivian Zou, centre administrator One Stop Centre, as resource persons.
Their presentations highlighted the legal consequences of drug abuse and the mechanisms available to support victims of gender-based violence.
The programme was inaugurated by Thangkhosuanmung, village chief of Hiangtam Lamka and former MDC, All IDPs from the relief centre actively participated in the session.
Commenting on the event, CWRU stated that the initiative was conducted in response to the urgent need for greater awareness, given the rising number of incidents involving the sexual abuse of minor girls, particularly among internally displaced persons.
The programme was held in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Churachandpur, and was sponsored by the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) .
