Tarao Tribe Union elects office bearers

The new office bearers of Tarao Angkaang Rui (TAR), the apex body of the Tarao tribe, for the 2025-2028 term have been elected through the election of the executive members, auditors and assembly affairs.
According to a statement released by TAR Manipur speaker Dr Shanoi Moses Tarao, the newly elected office bearers included Kh Akber as president, T Ramesh as vice president, Kv Parkham as secretary general, Th Shingmi as vice secretary general, Kh Motorshen as finance secretary, Th Sailesh as cultural secretary and L Loveson as information and publicity secretary.
Among the elected auditors included Kh Martin as chief auditor, and K Nepuni and K Kontong as members, while K Leingam and Kh Sanatomba have been elected as speaker and secretary of the assembly affairs.
Additionally, a literature committee has been formed for a five-year term.
The committee will focus on preserving and promoting the culture and traditions of the Tarao tribe through literary and cultural initiatives.
The oath taking ceremony for the newly elected office bearers was conducted by Tarao Angkaang Rui speaker Dr Shanoi Moses Tarao, the release added.
