DDU College Week celebration begins

The first 5-day College Week Celebration of DM Community College, DDU-Kaushal Kendra commenced at DM College of Science playground on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters in this regard, director professor L Hemchandra informed that DM Community College, DDU Kaushal Kendra was established in 2014 under the financial assistance of University Grants Commission, New Delhi as a vocational centre.
He said that centre currently offers six B-Voc programs in Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiological Imaging Technology, Operation Theatre Technology, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance, Fruits and Vegetable Technology, and Mass Communication and Multimedia Technology.

According to professor Hemchandra, the centre has also provided M-Voc programs and opportunities for research.
However, it has yet to produce any PhD scholars.
Since its establishment on June 13, 2014, the centre has been conducting extracurricular activities for its students.
In line with this, the 5-day College Week celebration was launched, featuring various sports and cultural programmes, he informed, adding that students will compete in Ex-Tempo Speech and Debate competitions focused on current state issues.
The inaugural function of the college week was also attended by DM College of Science former principal Dr Elangbam Jadu, DM College of Science principal Prof M Bhubaneshwari Devi, Physics department faculty Ch Bijoy Singh, Physical Education & Sports Science professor R Chandrakumar and DM, University Chemistry head professor RK London as presidium members.
