IYQ workshop begins at Manipur University

Imphal, February 21 2025:
In connection with the United Nations declaration of the year 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ) to mark the 100 years of Quantum Mechanics since the start of the 'New Quantum Theory' in 1925, a three-day workshop on 'International Year of Quantum Science & Technology' commenced on Friday at Manipur University.
The workshop being organised by the Research Institute of Science and Technology (RIST), Manipur University complex in collaboration with Manipur Association of Science & Technology Council (MASTEC), Takyelpat under the sponsorship of the State Bank of India, will continue till February 23.The inaugural session of the workshop held at the conference hall of Physics department was attended by secretary (science and technology) Kengoo Zuringla as chief guest and professor N Nimai Singh of MU physics department as functional president while physics department head professor A Dilip Kumar Singh and dean of Research & Development Cell, Lucknow University professor Murli Manohar Verma were the guests of honour.
Retired professors of Manipur University namely C Amuba Singh, Th Jekendra Singh, N Rajmuhon Singh and Sh Dorendrajit Singh, and retired associate professor of Imphal College S Subhashchandra Singh presented their papers during technical sessions on the first day.
Poster presentations for the research scholars, interaction with eminent scientists from across the globe and workshop sessions by eminent Physicists will be the main attraction of 2nd and 3rd day of the workshop.
