Noney, May 19 2024:
Despite Sunday being a holiday, members of the Longmai Bazar Board (Town Committee) carried out a social service programme at Longmai Bazar, Noney district headquarters, to control the overflowing of rain water from the nallah (drains), which has damaged the road.
It may be mentioned that the recent heavy rains and storms caused damage to the road and created inconveniences for the shopkeepers and commuters due to the overflowing of rainwater from the drain.
Even some low-lying houses had been inundated.
Meanwhile, Longmai Bazar Board joint secretary Subhas Kamei appealed to the public to abstain from throwing wastes to avoid drain clogging.
He also urged the public to have sense of belongingness and contribute to any development activity undertaken by the Longmai Bazar Board.
