NPP launches professional internship programme

To investigate from the grassroots level if there is good governance in Manipur and whether welfare schemes of both the state and central governments reach or benefit the people, the National People's Party (NPP), Manipur launched 'Manipur Young Professional Internship Programme'.
The internship programme was launched at NPP's Naoremthong state office by president Y Joykumar in the presence of vice president RK Rameshwar, ex-MLA Soibam Sobhashchandra and other functionaries.
In his address, Joykumar said the party discussed prevailing situation in Manipur including apparent absence of good governance and government policies and programmes not reaching the people.

Accordingly, the party decided to investigate from the held and took up the internship programme, he said adding that findings of the programme might help in building a new Manipur.
Regarding the internship programme, NPP Manipur general secretary (IT and frontal organisation) Laitonjam Jayananda said that 'Manipur Young Professional Internship Programme' will be conducted on the theme 'Let's stand together to save our motherland, Manipur' and it will give immense opportunity to the youth amid the critical phase Manipur is passing through.
The programme will try to comprehend if there is good governance in Manipur and whether government schemes and benefits are actually benefitting the targeted section of the population, he said, expressing that findings of the programme might help clear all doubts.
According to Jayananda, 40 educated youths fluent in English, Hindi and Manipuri will take up the internship programme in the first phase.
The programme will be for three months and each youth will be provided Rs 5,000 per month, he said adding that the programme will be beneficial for youth in their future career as they will be trained by retired IAS and IPS officers.
Even though NPP initiated the programme, management of the programme will be done by MAYOL entirely, he added.
