AR conducts medical camp, cleanliness drive

Assam Rifles' medical staff and a team of nurses examined senior citizens, pregnant, lactating women and children during a medical camp held at K Vangphai, Churachandpur district, on Saturday during which 551 persons availed consultation, medicines and laboratory services.
On the same day, medical assistance was provided to one Lelien (32) of Songdo village in Churachandpur district, who suffered cut on his left leg from a broken glass pane, at AR Unit Hospital.
The individual is on the road to recovery after the medical staff provided essential care and stabilised his Condition by stitching the wound, applying an antiseptic dressing and giving medication, said a release of PRO IGAR (S).
In another release, the PRO informed that Assam Rifles on Sunday conducted a cleanliness drive at Sendra, Bishnupur district and Komlakhong, Imphal West district to promote healthy and clean society and sensitise the locals, especially youngsters, on the importance of a clean and healthy environment.
The drive .included an interactive session on 'Clean and Healthy Environment' that was well attended by villagers of varied age groups, followed by comprehensive cleanliness session.
A total of 25 soldiers and 20 locals participated in the drive.
Meanwhile, a drawing competition was organised for the students of Dr Colvin School, Haolenphai on May 10 with the aim to celebrate creativity and provide a platform for budding artists to highlight their talents.
The drawing competition demonstrates a commitment to community engagement through pencil and colour, as well as support for educational efforts in Haolenphai village.
This initiative, based on the topic My Dream World,' aimed to engage with young minds while also helping channelise their energies in a positive manner towards prosperity of nations and their individual growth, according to the PRO.
