Churachandpur DC visits relief camps

Churachandpur, April 04 2025:
In continuation of the inspection of relief camp operations in the district, Churachandpur deputy commissioner Dharun Kumar S visited 20 relief camps across Tuibong sub-division on Friday.
The relief camps set up for violence-affected internally displaced persons (IDPs) are being managed by Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
The district authority observed the relief camps one after another to ensure that the camps are providing essential amenities such as shelter, food, water, health cards, medical assistance, etc., to the affected families.
During the visit, the DC interacted with the affected families who have been in these camps since the violence broke out on May 3, 2023.He patiently heard the grievances of the IDPs, who appealed for adequate water supply and highlighted lack of storage capacity, medical and monetary aid, health-card, financial assistance for library at Sadbhavna relief camp, etc.
The DC assured that their grievances would be addressed promptly through the departments concerned.
T-shirts and sweets were also distributed to the children by the DC and his official team, who also inspected handloom and handicraft products made in the camps by displaced persons.
On the way back from Ngaloi relief camp, Songpi block, the DC and his team inspected ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra-Farm Science Centre at Pearsonmun village, Churachandpur.
The DC was accompanied by ADC/SDO Tuibong Seiminthang Lenthang, SDC Kimkhanching, CMO Dr Vanlalkungi, DFWO Dr Sania Monica, CFO Lalthazam; AC III to DC Mangminthang Gangte, ZEO Esther Chingneikim and officials of different departments.
