UPPK says outfit dissolved in 2016

Imphal, February 11 2024:
While informing the people that the outfit was dissolved in 2016 following the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government in 2013, the United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) clarified that the dissolved outfit and ex-cadres are unrelated with recent extortion activities carried out in the name of UPPK (Chingkhei group) .
According to a statement of UPPK signed jointly by ex-functionaries and ex-cadres, the outfit and ks armed group Kangleipak People's Army (KPA) signed MoU with the governments of India and Manipur on May 24, 2013 .
The central committee of the outfit and cadres held a joint meeting together on April 4, 2016 and resolved to dissolve the outfit and stop all activities in the name of the outfit.
The same resolution was also publicised through the media and henceforth the outfit remains inactive till date, the UPPK statement said and warned of severe consequences if anyone is found using outfit's name in any activity.
