UHF resents misinformation on anti-drug activist

Imphal, July 14 2024: United Helping Foundation (UHF), Hatta Golapati has termed as unfortunate inclusion of Anti-Drug Committee founder president Haji Ibungo in the list of drug smugglers/dealers published by proscribed Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA).

In a press meet held at Thangjing Hall of Manipur Press Club on Sunday, Foundation's vice chairman Islauddin Shah said that Haji Ibungo of Moijing Awang Mamang Leikai is also the managing director of the Foundation, playing an important role in curbing the drug menace in the state.

Including his name in the list of drug smugglers/dealers released to the media is causing confusion amongst the public and also tainting his reputation.

He continued that Haji Ibungo is not a drug dealer or smuggler and as such, appealed to SOREPA to re-verify their list and clarify the same in the public domain.
