CRPF units distribute items of daily use

Different units of CRPF distributed items of daily use, stationeries and solar lamps in their respective areas of operational command under the civic action programmes.
143 Bn CRPF organised civic action programme during which it distributed portable solar lamps and study materials to students and villagers of Dailong village in Tamenglong district on March 10.The programme was attended by commandant L Lhoujem, second-in command K Sonny Singh, assistant commandant Santosh PT, Dailong village chairman Jeijunbei Gomei, school in-charge Worthing Pamei and Dailong Baptist Church assistant pastor Dikhiampou Pamei.
86 Battalion CRPF under the aegis of Manipur and Nagaland Sector 1G Sandeep Datta and supervision of commandant Mohamad Yasuf distributed water storage tanks to villagers of T Laijang village in Kangpokpi district under civic action programme in the presence of deputy commandant Thonglenlal Haokip, officer commanding G/86 Battalion and T Laijang village chief Doumang.
Ahead of actual distribution, a meeting was held earlier during which T Laijang villagers urged 86 Battalion commandant to provide water storage tanks as they have been facing acute shortage of water during the hot and dry summer months.
Accordingly, based on the request of the villagers commandant Mohamad Yasuf considered it prudent to provide water storage tanks with the aim to fulfil the critical need of the local populace.
As chief guest of the function, commandant Yasuf expressed his gratitude to the villagers and stated that distribution of water tanks was done with an aim to help and develop the village and all the people living in T Laijang village and also create an atmosphere of good will and positive relationship with the people of the village.
The villagers can now store rain water and ground water from the hills and store them for their uses as well as for contingency uses.
Similarly, 109 Bn CRPF conducted a civic action programme on March 9 at Rikhumai Taphou village in Senapati district, during which 22 water storage tanks were distributed to the poor and needy families of the village.
The distribution programme was attended by battalion's second in-command Anil Kumar as chief guest.
Poumai Naga Union PNU) president Dailord Pao, assistant commandants Alex L Kophom & A Visapunii, 109 Bn personnel and villagers were also present at the event.
