Man jailed in daughter sexual assault case

Imphal, October 09 2024: A man charged of sexually assaulting own seven-year old daughter has been remanded to judicial custody for 15 days by the Special Judge (POCSO).

The accused person, who is originally from Thoubal district but staying in a rented quarter in Imphal, was produced before the Special Judge (POCSO) with a prayer for judicial remand.

During the hearing, IO of the case informed the court that following a complaint lodged by the victim's aunt at Imphal West Women police station on October 3, the station registered a case and picked up the accused from his rented quarter around 12:05 am on October 6 .

Having examined the IO's report, the court decreed 15 days' judicial remand of the accused.
