Petition filed against MSPDCL job result delay

A writ petition has been filed in the High Court of Manipur against the non-dec-laration of recruitment results of various posts of Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) .
The petition was filed by candidates Sangita Khumukcham of Kakching Khunou presently at Thangmeiband Selungba Leikai, Arish Keisham and Khagembam Banerjit of Singjamei Waikhom Leikai and Moirangthem Malemganba of Thengra Leirak, Churachandpur presently staying at Mekola relief camp.
The respondents included the State of Manipur represented by the chief secretary, commissioner/secretary Power Department and managing director of MSPDCL.
On Monday, the petition was heard in the court of justice Ahanthem Bimol.
According to the petition, MSPDCL issued a notification on January 30, 2019 informing about recruitment for various posts.
The petitioners applied for the posts of computer operator and meter reader cum bill distributor, junior establishment assistant, and bill assistant posts.
The examinations for the posts were held on January 8, 9, and 12 in 2022 .
Although all recruitment processes have been completed, the results are kept in abeyance without giving any valid reason.
The delay in declaring the results along with violation of public recruitment rules, lack of transparency and accountability has caused unimaginable distress to the petitioners.
It has also affected the careers of the petitioners and also of other candidates, mentioned the petition.
The petitioners also reportedly submitted representations to the Governor, chief secretary, commissioner (power) and managing director of MSPDCL, requesting for declaration of the results at the earliest.
During the hearing, the petitioners made a prayer to the court either to issue a writ, order or direction to the respondents to declare the results in the shortest time possible.
They further prayed to the court to examine the facts and circumstances of the Case and give a befitting verdict.
The next hearing of the petition has been scheduled for August 12 .
