Imphal, September 30 2024: The 3rd Manipuri Folk Dance Festival organised by People's Socio-Cultural Organisation (PSCO), Ningomthong Imphal East concluded at USA Club hall, Kakwa Lilando Lampak on Monday.

Padma Shri K Sanathoiba Sharma and Bashikhong Junior High School headmistress Ksh Promila Devi attended the closing ceremony as chief guest and president respectively while JNMDA Nat Sankirtan Guru (Pung) state awardee M Seityaban and JNMDA Guru (Ras) MSKA awardee A Apabi Devi attended as guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion PSCO secretary Kshetrimayum Jiten informed that the festival, organised under the Cultural Function and Production Grant (CFPG) scheme of the ministry of culture, began from September 26 .

It was an effort from the organisation to promote the rich cultural heritage of Manipur as well as to ring out message of mutual respect and unity among the different indigenous communities.

Altogether 10 troupes participated in the festival with the last day seeing presentation of Maibi Leiching Jagoi, Pung Cholom, Pukhram Jagoi and Kabui dance.
