Students advised to seek science knowledge

National Science Day 2025 observance was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kha Manipur College, Kakching at its multipurpose hall on Friday.
Held under the theme "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Vikshit Bharat", the observance was attended by College principal Dr Okram Rudrababu and Commerce Department head associate professor Yengkhom Raju as presidium members.
As resource person of the event, Manipur University School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences former dean professor Sougaijam Dorendrajit stated that advancement in science and technology is the driving force of developed countries.

It is, thus, essential for students of Manipur to strive for acquiring knowledge in science, and undertake related research work, he stressed.
Professor Dorendrajit also recognised the emphasis placed on the mother tongue under the New Education Policy 2020.stating teaching and learning in one's mother tongue will help the students to grasp and understand concepts more effectively.
"If we conduct research at the international level, make new discoveries, and develop new technologies while naming them in our own mother tongue, we will be able to establish a unique identity on the global stage," he envisioned.
While pointing out the need to focus more on the development of science and technology, he urged the government to allocate sufficient funds for this purpose.
The function was also attended by teachers, students and NCC cadets of the college.
