ANSAM again speaks out against border fencing

The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has reaffirmed its opposition to the scrapping of Free Movement Regime (FMR) and construction of border fencing in 'Naga homeland' while endorsing Indo-Naga political talks.
This decision was taken during its legislative assembly session held on April 9, 2025 at Heibunglok Changnhe village, Chandel district.
The programme was hosted by Sirti Thiijiitam Sourkhe (Monsang Naga Students' Union) .
The assembly session deliberated on policy programmes of ANSAM and other issues confronting the Naga populace at large.
While incorporating the views and opinions of the members, the assembly session adopted resolutions in sync with the principle of the Association and interest of Naga people.
On the Indo Naga political talk, the house reaffirmed its unwavering support and commitment for acceptable, inclusive and honourable Naga political solution based on the 3rd August, 2015 Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM), recognizing Flag, Constitution and integration as an inalienable rights of the Nagas.
The house also resolved to make it mandatory for every Naga to raise Naga National flag in all Naga houses, villages, streets and towns while observing any Naga National celebrations/occasions viz Naga Independence Day, Naga Republic Day and Framework Agreement Day.
On scrapping the FMR and border fencing, the house reasserted its opposition to the abrogation of FMR and construction of border fencing.
The house demanded immediate reinstatement of FMR and halt of the border fencing project 'in Naga homeland' .
The house also reaffirmed its demand to repeal AFSPA from Naga homeland and to urge the Centre to release Naga Political prisoners.
In line with the directives of Naga Students' Federation, the house also resolved to reaffirm its position of non-cooperation movement against the Indian security forces.
The house also condemned the assault of Konsakhul village chief, chairman, Pastor and several villagers by the 'aggressive' villagers from L Phaijang, Munlai, Haraothel Villages and Kuki militants disguised as civilians on April 5, 2025 .
