MNRF makes clear its position

Imphal, May 05 2009: Recalling that the Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) was founded in 2008 under the leadership of Allen Siro under the banner of Unity, Independence and Co-existence, the outfit has stated its position on different issues.

In a press release issued by its publicity secretary C Rocky, MNRF declared that it was formed to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur.

Any individual or group hatching to create disunity among the peoples of Manipur will be considered as an enemy of the party.

Saying that it does not collect house tax/ration tax, MNRF pledged that it would not commit any sort of betrayal to the public.

Going on the offensive against the NSCN (IM) for acting like a government and imposing/exempting taxes, the accused NSCN (IM) of awarding contracts/supply/schemes to a few hand-picked contractors/suppliers and projecting candidate(s) of their choice in elections.

Quoting words of Th Muivah, "Nothing less and nothing more than sovereignty", the MNRF asked whether Naga integration is not under the constitution of India.

"If NSCN (IM) thinks that sending a lone MP from Outer Manipur can solve the long standing issue of Indo-Naga problem, then why no Th Muivah himself contest the election instead of capturing votes for Mani and harassing other candidates ?" the outfit asked.

The MNRF appealed to all Naga citizens to scrutinise the alleged steps of failure taken by the NSCN (IM).
