Govt cannot interfere in the recruitment of staff in the subordinate judiciary system.
It is the prerogative of the High Court .
This was stated by Law Minister L Jayantakumar while clarifying a motion to facilitate passing of demand amounting to Rs 98,78,06,000 pertaining to Administration of Justice, Law and Legislative Affairs today in the ongoing Assembly session .
The Minister said there are three-tier staff in the subordinate judiciary system � Judicial Officer Grade-I, Judicial Officer Grade-II and Judicial Officer Grade-III .
Filling of vacant posts in the subordinate judiciary is done by High Court.
Government is acting at the direction of the High Court .
The total number of sanctioned staff in the three-tier system in respect of the State is 43 including 17 posts of Judicial Officer Grade-I and 13 posts each of Judicial Officer Grade-II and Judicial Officer Grade-III, L Jayantakumar said .
A total of 12 posts � 3 posts of Judicial Officer Grade-II and 9 posts of Judicial Officer Grade-III are lying vacant as of now, he said .
Written exam for direct recruitment to fill 9 vacant posts in the Judicial Officer Grade-III has already been conducted.
The remaining vacant posts will be filled after recruitment of 9 posts of Judicial Officer Grade-III .
Court Development Committee has been constituted to ease flooding due to inundation of Court complex with slight rainfall which is hampering the judiciary services.
The Committee is looking for fund to prevent inundation of Cheirap Court complex .
Maintaining that computerisation of Court is a necessity, the Minister said computerisation process of the Court has been started .
Computerisation of Imphal East Family Court, Bishnupur and Thoubal Courts is also in process.
