Avail scheme benefits, protect trees: MLA

Imphal, May 19 2024: Informing that the government has been taking various initiatives to provide alternative livelihoods to log-gers/timber traders, Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha urged the masses to avail benefits of different schemes under implementation in the state.

Speaking on the sidelines of a tree plantation drive organised under Green Mission Manipur at Chingu Nongpok Apanba hill range in Nongren village, Imphal East district on Sunday, Ibomcha reminded all concerned that with out trees, no living organism can survive on the planet.

As such, he urged for concerted efforts in protecting and preserving the environment to lessen the adverse impact of climate change.

The plantation drive was participated by Telou Chana Seijang ZP member A Jamini, Nongren Chingnungkok GP pradhan M Bilasini and members of Chingu Nongpok Apanba Thougal Lup.

In his brief address, Thougal Lup secretary Tomba Mutum called upon government authorities to develop the area.
