Creativity takes centre stage at KV's "Kala Darpan" exhibition

Creativity and cultural pride were on full display at Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Lamphelpat in Imphal West district, as the school hosted "Kala Darpan" Art and Craft Exhibition on Friday, showcasing the diverse talents of students through an array of artistic and craft works.
The programme was inaugurated by KVS Regional Office, Tinsukia deputy commissioner Taorem Pritam Singh, who described Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan as a 'Mini Bhagat', representing a mosaic of languages and cultures and embodying the spirit of unity in diversity.
He noted that the Kendriya Vidyalaya system mirrors the same cultural richness seen from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.
Highlighting the importance of holistic development encompassing physical, mental and spiritual growth, the deputy commissioner asserted that education should be multi-disciplinary, combining art, academics and physical education, while ensuring inclusivity and equity.
He lauded the teachers for their dedication and exemplary role as facilitators and mentors, expressing confidence that the students of the school would excel across the country.
Pritam also called upon parents and the community to actively participate in the education system, working together to bring a paradigm shift in the school's growth and learning environment.
He further praised the creativity of the students, underlining the role of art education in nurturing imagination, cultural appreciation and lifelong learning.
Attending the event, secretary (MA/OBC&SC/YAS/Edu-s) Naorem Praveen underscored the importance of school days in shaping one's life.
He remarked that the values, discipline and lessons instilled in school not only mould individuals but also equip them to face life's challenges with confidence and resilience.
Expressing elation to be part of the event and witness first-hand the creativity and talent of the students, he noted that Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lamphelpat, has produced many accomplished students who have made significant contributions to society.
He voiced hope that the school will continue its role in nurturing future generations.
Speaking on India's vision of becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047, Praveen urged students and youth to put forth their best efforts towards achieving this goal.
Such commitment, he said, would not only help realise the national vision but also bring about improvements in educational infrastructure and road connectivity.
The art exhibition featured a vibrant collection of artworks, handicrafts and creative writing from students of Classes 1 to 12 .
The event was attended by additional director of education (planning) T Geetchandra Sharma, school principal Vishwanath Namaram, and many parents and guardians.
Cultural songs and dances were also showcased on the occasion, adding a lively touch to the celebration.
